every man - Pyramid Lake |
||||
Pyramid Lake is a single track 70 minute CD inspired by every man's experience sitting in front of the actual Pyramid Lake in Nevada on his way back from the Burning Man event in August of 2003. Pyramid Lake itself (which lies on Native American Indian land) appears to be a hallucination after seeing endless miles of dry open desert. After a week's worth of audio/visual sensory overload, every man sat before this lake and meditated. Incredible visions and sounds filled his head that were too beautiful to describe here, but the distinct words and sounds he heard, the vivid images he saw, and the numbing sensations he felt remained there in his spirit for many days afterwards. While the words, visions, and sensations appeared to be equally as hallucinogenic as the mysterious and beautiful body of water before him, every man felt they were incredibly real on a less understood level of understanding. In effort to share this spiritual experience with others, every man wrote an album in homage to Pyramid Lake, giving us sounds that best capture his physical, mental, and spiritual recollections of being temporarily 'possessed" by the lake. Hoping to keep the overall feeling of the CD as organic as possible, every man composed it live in one take, after several weeks of preparation between early September and mid-October of 2003. Minimal post-production was done to remove any sounds that may have distracted the message within, or to enhance the equalization in sections that would enhance your overall listening experience. The feeling of the CD goes from a brief dynamic in fluctuation of sound, into a more trance-like wall-to-wall orchestra forcing your mind to leave your body, coming down briefly into a quiet state of meditation on the existence of the self, only to take you up higher again than you've ever been before into a final exploration of ego-loss, the outstanding indescribable beauty outside of our bodies . . . the very same beauty found within Pyramid Lake.
